Sometime in early 2022, Sylvia joined GBK Entertainment's Trainee Program Universe, which aims to select girls to became potential members of a future girl group. Sylvia was seen participating in an audition held by Shinwha Entertainment to find members for NEXTU. She successfully passed the first round of auditions.
On November 17, 2024, NewsPatch reported that DE:VA made their first-ever public appearance at the 2024 WPOP EDM Festival, where they also unveiled additional member Sylvia.
