On August 24, 2021, Emma appeared on Mnet's dance survival show '. She was eliminated with her dance crew 'WANT' in the 6th episode, placing 7th overall in the show. On May 5, she was revealed as one of the members for BPM Entertainment's upcoming girl group BADVILLAIN, before being officially introduced on May 17.

The group debuted on June 3 with the single album "Overstep".
