On April 4, 2024, BPM Entertainment announced the debut of a new six-member girl group through a teaser video. They will debut in the first half of 2024. A first spoiler film was posted on April 17, confirming that the group will debut as seven.
On May 16, Kelly, Chloe Young, INA, and HU'E were introduced, followed by Emma, Vin and YunSeo the next day. On May 20, 2024, BADVILLAIN announced that they will debut on June 3. The next day, they released the promotion poster for "Overstep".
On June 24, the group announced that they will be releasing the special single "Hurricane" later that day. On November 11, they released a trailer film for "Zoom", set for release on November 19. On August 21, 2025, it was reported that BADVILLAIN will be having a comeback in September.
On September 1, they released a teaser for "Thriller", set for release on September 15.
