On July 12, 2017, she was revealed as the eighth member of LOONA. Her solo single album, titled "Choerry", was released on July 28. She debuted as a member of the group's second sub-unit, ODD EYE CIRCLE, on September 21, 2017 with the mini album Mix & Match.
On August 20, 2018, LOONA debuted as a full twelve-member group with their first mini album + +. In an article published by JTBC on November 28, it was revealed that Choerry and all LOONA members except Hyunjin and Vivi have reportedly filed a lawsuit to suspend their contracts with BlockBerryCreative due to their trust in the company being damaged. BlockBerryCreative denies all claims.
On January 13, 2023, the Seoul Northern District Court announced that they ruled in favor of Choerry, along with HeeJin, Kim Lip and JinSoul, to suspend their exclusive contracts with BlockBerryCreative. On February 1, a source from BlockBerryCreative confirmed that they will submit a petition asking to suspend their entertainment activities. On March 17, it was announced that she, alongside JinSoul, Kim Lip and Heejin, have signed exclusive contracts with MODHAUS.
On April 1, she, alongside JinSoul, Kim Lip and Heejin were revealed to be taking part in MODHAUS' strategy project ARTMS. On June 20, 2024, it was revealed that she, alongside JinSoul, Kim Lip and Heejin won their lawsuit against Blockberry Creative. On October 27, it was announced that Choerry will release her first digital single "Pressure|" on October 30.
