On July 22, 2016, Kim Ji Woong, under the stage name Jinam, was introduced as a member of the upcoming boy group INX. He debuted with the group on August 2, with their first digital single "Alright". On November 30, 2017, he announced through an Instagram livestream that the group had disbanded.
On August 9, 2018, he was revealed as a member of the upcoming boy group ATEEN. They made their Japanese debut on September 1, 2018 with their first digital single "僕はちょっと違う". On January 18, 2019, it was revealed that 6 out of 10 trainees from a company had sued their female CEO for sexual assault in a sushi restaurant in Tokyo meeting dinner on September 28, 2018.
The group was later confirmed, on February 6, to be ATEEN. The agency's female CEO continued to physically and verbally abuse the group and the all 10 members recounted how cruelly they were treated. In the end, they had to undergo psychiatric treatment, some suffered from insomnia, and severely overworked, with their electronic equipment were confiscated.
The company denied them, but their contract was terminated and they broke up. On April 5, 2019, he, alongside fellow members Segun, Joel and Rookie were revealed as members of the pre-debut group B. I.
T. Unfortunately, they have been inactive on their SNS since September 2019 and deleted their Instagram account, although they announced a fan meeting in August 2020. On December 29, 2022, Jiwoong was introduced as a contestant of Boys Planet, which premiered on February 2, 2023.
During the show's finale, he was revealed to have ranked 8th overall, thus making him a member of ZEROBASEONE. The group debuted on July 10, 2023 with the mini album Youth in the Shade.
