He debuted as a member of VICTON on November 9, 2016 with the group's first mini album Voice To New World. On December 17, 2024, IST Entertainment announced that Kang Seung Sik would be leaving the company ahead of the expiration of his exclusive contract. On July 30, 2025, MUMW Entertainment announced that Kang Seung Sik had signed with the agency.
On October 1, he was identified as the contestant SingAgain4 Singer No. 52 (싱어게인4 52호 가수) on the JTBC survival show Sing Again 4. On October 21, during the first round, he performed his song "What If" from the EXchange2 OST in the second episode.
