On July 9, 2010, Niel made his debut as a member of TEEN TOP with the release of their single album "Come Into The World". On December 28, 2021, TOP Media announced that Niel will not renew his contract with them starting from January 10, 2022, although he will still be a member of TEEN TOP. On January 24, 2022, it was announced that Niel and Changjo would be holding a Friends Fan-Con called "Missing You" on February 26.

On August 10, 2022, Niel was revealed to have signed to Newentry Co. , Ltd and will promote as a solo artist. On December 29, 2023, it was announced that Niel would return with his first single album "Parting Emotion" on January 11, 2024, marking his first solo comeback in over a year.
