In mid-2019, he participated in Mnet's boy group survival show Produce X 101 representing ESteem. He was eliminated in the 8th episode and ranked in 40th place. On October 24, it was revealed that he would be debuting in a duo named JxR along with Baekjin.
They officially made their debut on December 5 with the digital single "Element". In mid-2021, Yuri played Dojin, who is a member of SHAX, in the KBS2 drama Imitation. The first episode aired on May 7 while the 12th and final episode aired on July 23.
On August 11, he was introduced as the 19th contestant of the survival show Wild Idol. Unfortunately, he was eliminated in the third episode and was unable to make it further in the show.
