In 2017, he participated in the competition show The Unit. He ended up as the male contestant with the most votes and was a part of UNB until their disbandment in 2019. On July 21, 2025, JTBC News further reported that, according to industry insiders, Lee Jun Young will be releasing a solo album sometime in September.

This release will mark his first solo comeback in approximately five years. Hours later, BILLIONS confirmed the reports. On September 4, BILLIONS unveiled the promotion scheduler for his first mini album, Last Dance, set for release on September 22.
