On October 15, 2015, Laon debuted as a member of M. Crown with the release of their first digital single "대도무문". He left the group on January 16, 2016.
In 2018, he was introduced as a member of the upcoming boy group Challenger, this time romanizing his stage name as Raon. However, the group canceled their debut plans in early 2019. On March 8, 2026, Raon was officially introduced as the first member of upcoming boy group NXMERCY under the stage name Youn.
The group debuted on March 16.
