In July 2013, he was revealed as a new member of ESQ, under the stage name Kay. J. On August 1, 2013, they released their first maxi single "ESQlicious".
The group later disbanded the same year due to the members' friction with the company. On November 19, 2014, he made his debut as a member of PUREBOY with their first digital single "Yellow Shirt", under the stage name Nankang. On August 20, 2015, he left the group along with the original members of PUREBOY.
On October 25, 2015, it was revealed that he, along with the members who previously left PUREBOY, had formed a new group named NAUGHTY BOYS. On August 3, 2016, he made his debut as a member of NAUGHTY BOYS with the release of their first Japanese single "DanCin'derella/Step By Step", under the stage name Seowoong. Sometime later, the group changed its name to NTB.
On December 5, 2018, he made his solo debut with the digital single "Regret". On February 28, 2021, it was announced that NTB would be disbanding following their last online fan meeting, which was held on March 27, 2021. On September 24, 2024, he returned to the group with their reformation as a trio.
