On September 29, 2024, Jia Yang was introduced as a contestant on the Chinese-South Korean survival show Starlight Boys. On December 21, he was eliminated in episode 9. On June 12, 2025, he was introduced as a contestant of Mnet's survival show Boys II Planet, representing JS Entertainment.
On September 4, he was eliminated in episode 8 after ranking 35th place. On October 2, INKODE announced that Sun Jia Yang had joined them as a trainee. On October 31, Sun Jia Yang was teased as a member of iNKODE new boy group.
On November 20, he was reported of being a member of INTHE X Project before being officially introduced the next day. On February 25, 2026, a teaser was released revealing that Sun Jia Yang had become a member of VAY ONN.
