On March 14, 2023, COMMAND THE-M Entertainment opened up SNS accounts for their upcoming boy group CMDM. On April 3, they revealed the first two members, ByungHoon and HyunHah, followed by JunHyoung and HeeJu on April 4, and NoYul and SeungHo on April 5. On April 9, 2023, they announced that they will make their debut on April 27 with the single album "Back To The Future".
On October 30, they announced that they will release their first digital single "Our Story" on November 6. On April 17, 2024, the group announced their plans to make their Japanese debut with their first single, "Back To The Future", which was released on May 9. On May 3, 2025, CMDM started unveiling concept photos for their upcoming digital single scheduled for May 8, and later revealed to be titled "Decalcomanie".
On June 1, it was announced that SeungHo had left the group after being on hiatus since November 2024 due to health issues. On August 20, CMDM started unveiling the concept photos for the digital single "First Step", scheduled for August 26. On February 3, 2026, the group announced that they would release their second Japanese single "Leash" on March 10, 2026.
