On June 4, 2022, Hikaru was introduced as a participant in the HYBE Labels Japan's then-upcoming survival show &AUDITION - The Howling -. On August 24, 2023, Hikaru, along with Gaku, completed their final debut test as trainees. On September 13, both were announced as debuting members for 24kumi, an upcoming boy group under HYBE Labels Japan (now known as YX LABELS), later revealed on September 24.
On October 12, it was announced that he would be changing his stage name to Haku. 24kumi disbanded in early 2025 without debuting. On February 2, 2025, Haku was announced as one of the 11 participants of the audition program titled Oen-High.
During the show's finale, he was revealed to have ranked 5th overall, thus making him a part of the debut lineup of aoen. The group made their debut with the single album "The Blue Sun" on June 11. On June 11, it was announced that Haku would be going by Hikaru once again.
