Ruka became a contestant at the iCON Z ~Dreams For Children~ audition program. Out of the 927 contestants, only 30 survived for the next round of screening with Ruka being among the people who passed. Unfortunately, he did not pass the the third stage of screening thus ultimately leaving the competition.
On November 24, 2023, Ruka was announced as a member of 24kumi, the then-upcoming boy group under HYBE Labels Japan (now known as YX LABELS). However, the group disbanded in early 2025. On February 2, 2025, he announced as one of the 11 participants of the audition program titled Oen-High.
During the show's finale, he was revealed to have ranked 4th overall, thus making him a part of the debut lineup of aoen. The group made their debut with the single album "The Blue Sun" on June 11.
