On July 16, 2024, Ming Kai was introduced as a member of the male trainee group YOUTOVE under TOV Entertainment. On September 29, Ming Kai was introduced as a contestant on the Chinese-South Korean survival show Starlight Boys. On December 21, he was eliminated in episode 9.
On September 2, 2025, Mingkai was introduced as a member of AM8IC. The group made their debut on November 10 with the EP Lukoie.
