On December 21, 2023, Arai Risako confirmed that she is training to debut with a new girl group through an Instagram story. Shortly after, fans identified the rest of the members as Han Chaehee, Koo Hyunkyoung and Kwon Yejin. On November 20, 2024, UDTT opened their SNS accounts.
On November 25, Risako was revealed as the first member, followed by Koo Hanna on November 26, Kwon Yejin on November 27, Jung Sena on November 28, and lastly Han Chaehee on November 29. On December 3, it was announced that the group would be debuting in early 2025. On December 5, UDTT unveiled a teaser for "Retry", scheduled to be released on December 11 ahead of their debut.
On December 9, a teaser was dropped for UDTT's Webtoon series titled Uddang Tangtang Girls which realistically captures the debut process of the group and the girls' earnest effort to achieve their dreams. It will have a total of 14 episodes to be released worldwide every Tuesday and Thursday at 7 PM, starting on December 17. Webtoon author, Jehu, is assigned for this project.
On March 26, 2025, SW Entertainment announced that Jung Sena would be departing from the group due to personal reasons. On April 7, 2025, it was announced that UDTT would be making their debut on April 29 with the single album "School Rush". On April 23, it was announced that UDTT is currently holding auditions to recruit an additional member to the lineup.
A virtual member would temporarily be joining the group for their debut promotions until the fifth member is revealed. On April 28, it was announced that a Chinese member would be joining the group as an "international exchange student" to tie in with their concept. The next day, it was revealed through an exclusive interview with Nugu Promoter that soloist and former Chuang Asia Thailand and Time Turner contestant Lu Yuting would be added to UDTT's lineup as their fifth member under the stage name Jessica.
The group performed as five on their debut stage performance at The Show. On January 14, 2026, SW Entertainment founder and producer Yoon Ilsang shared via his Instagram story that UDTT is preparing for their upcoming release.
