On July 7, 2021, Xinyu was confirmed as a contestant on Mnet's reality show, Girls Planet 999, along with the other participating trainees, through the prologue trailer. Her official profile was released on July 18. Unfortunately, on the 11th episode, which was aired on October 15, Xinyu was revealed to have been eliminated following the third round of eliminations with her final rank being C07.
On April 8, 2022, Xinyu was confirmed as a contestant on Youku's newest reality show, Great Dance Crew, along with the other contestants, through the promotional pictures. On July 2, 2023, Zhou Xinyu was revealed as the fifteenth member of the girl group tripleS, and a member of its sub-unit LOVElution. She will be going by the stage name Xinyu (신위) henceforth.
She made her debut as a tripleS member on May 8, 2024 with the album Assemble24|. On June 18, 2024, it was announced that Xinyu had been placed in Visionary Vision. On September 3, 2025, Xinyu was placed as the leader of Sun.
