It is known that prior to 2020, Sohyun was a trainee at YG Entertainment and was part of one of their unofficial team of trainees, known as 'GirlB' and 'Team B'. On August 10, 2020, Lee Youngyu revealed that she along with three other girls will debut in a girl group known as 'ㅇㄴㅌㅈ'. Through a dance video uploaded by Youngyu, Kim Sohyun was revealed as a member along with Oh Sumin and Park Jinhee.
Their debut date is as of now unrevealed. In October 2021, Sohyun along with Youngyu, Sumin and Jinhee appeared as group contestants on the competitive reality show, Kookmin Singer. Through their entry to the show, it was revealed that the four girls are members of the upcoming girl group Seasoning under DANA Entertainment.
Together, they were eventually eliminated but finished within the 'Top 111' ranks (ranks after 40 for individuals were not assigned). However, in a YouTube video uploaded by Youngyu in late 2021, she revealed that the debut plans for Seasoning had been cancelled, thus the girl group disbanded.
