On April 17, 2021, Mei was revealed as a contestant of Ebichu New Member Audition Camp. On May 5, it was revealed that Mei was not selected as a new member of Shiritsu Ebisu Chugaku. On August 20, 2023, Mei was introduced as a contestant of The Debut: Dream Academy.
On October 8, Mei was eliminated from the competition. On September 4, 2024, Mei was revealed as the third member of SAY MY NAME. The group debuted on October 16, 2024 with the EP SAY MY NAME.
