On August 29, 2024, iNKODE confirmed their plans to debut their first-ever idol group sometime in October, with veteran singer Kim Jae Joong being heavily involved with the group's training and overall production. The next day, on August 30, a trailer film announced that iNKODE's first idol group would be a girl group called SAY MY NAME. Simultaneously, the group's first member, Dohee, was revealed.
From September 2 to September 13, the remaining six members of the group were revealed, beginning with Kanny, followed by Mei, Junhwi, Soha, Seungjoo, and Hitomi, respectively. On that day, the EP, along with its title track "WaveWay", were released.
On November 25, through their official X (Twitter) account, SAY MY NAME announced their official fandom would be LOVvmE. The next day, it was revealed their second EP, titled My Name Is... , would be released on March 13.
On that day, the EP, along with its title track "Shalala", was released. On April 11, the group released their first Japanese digital single, a Japanese version of their previous title track "Shalala". On April 28, SAY MY NAME held their first Japanese fanmeeting, titled 2025 SAY MY NAME 1st Fanmeeting in Japan 'Hello My LOVvmE', at Toyosu Pit in Tokyo, Japan.
On July 10, iNKODE released an official statement announcing that SAY MY NAME would be transitioning from a seven-member group to an eight-member group with the addition of new member Shuie. On the same day, it was reported through local news outlet TenAsia that the group was preparing to make a comeback sometime in August. On July 15, SAY MY NAME released a promotion timetable for their first digital single "ILy", set for release on August 1.
On December 3, it was announced that SAY MY NAME would release their third EP &Our Vibe on December 29.
