Sometime in the spring or summer of 2020, Jimin joined the trainee group YOURS under Deep Studio Entertainment, as evident by changing her Instagram username to include "your" and being followed by the group's official Instagram account. Jimin was confirmed as a trainee on July 28, when a trainee profile card of her was released and a profile page was made for her on YOURS' website. Jimin was one of the 12 trainees who got to take part in the release of YOURS' first digital single "My Memory Is YOURS", released on October 16, 2020.
On April 20, 2021, Jimin announced her departure from YOURS and Deep Studio Entertainment. Jimin later revealed through her Instagram bio that she had became a trainee under GKMNEO and was officially confirmed as a trainee when listed on their website. On April 14, 2022, she was revealed as a member of GKMNEO's upcoming girl group, PBT.
The group later renamed as MuuTive. They released their first pre-debut digital single "Ahha" on July 22, 2022. However, the group silently disbanded sometime in May 2023 after they were removed from GKMNEO's official website, and Jimin was listed as a solo artist under the company.
