On April 3, 2013, AI debuted as a member of GI with the release of their debut single "Beatles". Unfortunately, they presumably disbanded in 2016 due to inactivity on their SNS. In 2019, she participated in the survival show Best of the Best during the second season under her BJ name, Kim Metal.

However, she was eliminated. In 2023, she had a discussion with SimTong Entertainment and gained permission to use the group name GI. She is planning to make a comeback with the girl group sometime in 2024.
