On July 21, 2009, the group made their debut as Girl Scouts with their first mini album Girl's Hot, which gained attention thanks to the title track "Girls Hot" being composed by Brown Eyed Girls' composer Oh Seung-eun and featured Miryo. Just 2 days after their debut, it was announced that they had changed their group name to Flying Girls due to Girl Scouts Korea notifying the agency to not use their name. The same month, their agency revealed plans for their promotions in Japan, carried out by the concert planning company Ogikaku, as well as plans for a Japanese version of "Girl's Hot".
In October 2009, it was reported that the group was preparing for music show promotions with “Plus and Minus” around the end of the month. Since November 2009, the group became inactive and presumably disbanded. Following the disbandment of Flying Girls, the members went their separate ways: - Gayoung became active as a model, under the name Park Sora.
- Jisoo re-debuted as a member of Brave Girls in 2011, under the name Seoah. In 2016, it was revealed that she had left the group during their hiatus. - She later became active as a model, as well as opening a YouTube channel called "Park Seoa TV" and being a BJ on AfreecaTV.
- Jina re-debuted as a member of MOA in 2014 but later left to re-debut as a member of 4L. - After 4L's disbandment, she became a member of the trot duo J-Young in 2016, which later disbanded in 2018.
