On July 4, 2012, FLASHE made their debut with the digital single "Drop It Pop It", which also included the b-side "Bounce Bounce" and instrumental versions of both tracks. The lineup consisted of five members: Narae, Choa, Gaeul, Seolhee and Songhee. On August 31, 2013, after 8 months of inactivity, the group returned with a new lineup, consisting of Narae, Songhee and three new members, Hyewon, GoUn and Yeji.
Meanwhile, Choa, Gaeul and Seolhee appeared to have left the group. On October 1, the group made their first comeback with the digital single "Oh, Ye, Yo". On January 3, 2014, the group released a rock version of "Oh, Ye, Yo".
This was followed by the ballad track "The Flowers" on April 30. On May 19, the group released their third digital single titled "Hey You". On July 24, Songhee announced that she would be leaving the group due to an injury.
On January 7, 2015, FLASHE returned as four with their first single album and fourth single overall titled "My Day". On July 29, the group released their first special summer single "The Star of Stars". On January 7, 2016, the group made a comeback with their second single album and fifth single overall titled "Lip Bomb", which has a radically different concept compared to their previous releases.
On August 8, they returned to their cute concept with their second special season single "Cutie Girl", also known by it's alternative title "Ippn Girl". On October 26, GoUn and SuA left the group as their contracts with the agency ended. In March 2017, the group started promoting as four again with the addition of Suhyun and Siyeon.
However, this was short-lived as the two members made their last appearance with the group in June, before leaving around the same time. Shortly before the group's comeback, Minseo and Yaerin were introduced as new members through teaser images on August 24 and 25, respectively. On the 28th of the same month, FLASHE released their third season single "FLASHE Season Album" with the title track "Popping".
On January 21, 2018, Yeji was announced to be leaving the group for unspecified reasons. Following her departure, Seryeong was recruited as a new member. On July 3, FLASHE made a comeback with their fourth special release "Baby Lotion".
In promotion for this release, they held their first showcase at Apgujeong K-Hall, with Girls' Alert attending as guests. On September 26, it was announced that Minseo had departed from the group due to a back injury. She was then replaced by new member Sujin on November 8.
On July 16, 2019, the group released their first mini album titled Talk, which was crowdfunded through the platform Culture Bridge. The release included past title tracks serving the purpose of b-sides. On January 31, 2020, it was announced that they would be disbanding on February 1 after Narae decided to not renew her contract.
Following the disbandment announcement, the members posted goodbye letters to their individual Instagram accounts, thanking fans for their support. Following FLASHE's disbandment, the members went their separate ways: - Seolhee became active as a model. - GoUn became active as an actress under the stage name Seo Eunha.
- Yeji began operating an online clothing shop called Honey Milktea. - Siyeon went on to join A. B.
O. and White Witch, both of which ended up getting cancelled pre-debut. - Suhyun went on to debut in Walwari on May 13, 2019 with "Oppa is Cheating", then MINIMANI on June 2, 2021 with "Stop".
She later made her solo debut on March 1, 2023 with "Chuk & Chak". - Minseo became active as a BJ on AfreecaTV. - Yaerin became active as an actress under the stage name Seol Haim in 2021.
- The remaining members appear to have left the entertainment industry and have since focused on their personal lives.
