Originally a five-member C-pop group named Acrush (formally FFC-Acrush due their collaboration with the brand Fantasy Football Confederation) under Zhejiang Huati Entertainment, they debuted on April 28, 2017 with the single "Action". The 'A' in their name was abreviated from Adonis, the Greek god of desire and masculine beauty. In June 2017, two new members were added to the group: Feng Yuxuan and Joel.
In November, they released their second single, titled "I'm Sorry". However, the single did not included member Min Junqian, who later announced her departure in December. In February 2018, Feng Yuxuan departed the group.
A month later, the group was re-branded as Fanxy Red. In April 2019, Joel left eventually making them a four-member group. They re-debuted on August 28 with the single album "Activate", which was simultaneously released in China and South Korea.
In 2020, members K and Marco became contestants on the Chinese reality survival show Youth With You 2. Only K made it to the final line-up and debuted with the project girl group THE9. On March 24, 2025, TOV Entertainment CEO Kyle Yoon teased on his personal Instagram that Fanxy Red will be making a comeback sometime in 2025.
On May 15, TOV Entertainment announced that they would be holding auditions to recruit a new member for the group. After fans began speculating a reunion of all four members, Roy briefly discussed the Fanxy Red reunion in an August livestream. She confirmed that not only did she not know about the reunion, she had nothing to do with this, bringing her activity status into question by fans.
CEO Kyle Yoon has also been open about Marco not responding to any messages regarding a Fanxy Red comeback. Both K and Shawn have not mentioned anything regarding an upcoming reunion. Marco is focusing on her solo music career.
K is focusing on her acting career. TOV Entertainment have since not updated on the previous 2025 comeback reunion, and instead focused on debuting new groups, including experimenting with and debuting AI generated idols.
