Dorothy debuted as a five-member girl group on August 16, 2016 with the debut digital single "A Day_M". On February 13, 2017, Dorothy made an official announcement through their Instagram that Danbi had left the group due to personal reasons. On the same post, they mentioned that a new member, Soobin, will be added to the group for their next comeback.
Despite posting videos and photos with potential new members, Dorothy went silent with no further group updates and hence presumably disbanded in late 2017. Following the disbandment of Dorothy, all the members went their separate ways: - In 2017, Boyoung went onto debuting in the girl group Yellow Bee under the stage name Rozy. - In 2018, Soobin went to join the girl group Rose Finger.
The circumstances of the other members are still unknown.
