On October 15, 2024, Danah Entertainment teased their upcoming girl group DIVA-X through the agency's Instagram by leaving the hashtags "#divax #we_are_divax" on their post featuring DJ Nana, former LoveUs member Hayan and an unidentified member. In November, Danah Entertainment opened the group's official SNS and revealed the members to be Nana, Hayan, Hayoon and with the formerly unidentified member now known to be Kyoya. Later, on November 20, DIVA-X announced Seven as a new member of the group.
On March 7, 2025, Danah Entertainment announced DIVA-X would be posting a dance cover soon to showcase the group's skills. However, the dance cover never materialized until June. On March 12, it was reported by News1 that the group has diverse backgrounds in different fields such as modeling, pageantry and content creating.
Members Hayan and Nana have a background in music while member Hayoon has a background in cheerleading. It was also announced that the group is scheduled to debut sometime in June. In April, Danah Entertainment introduced the final lineup which consisted of Nana, Daisy (previously known as Hayoon), Chae Chae, Hayan, Yushin On April 11, DIVA-X released a pre-debut single "Magical Christmas".
On May 20, it was reported by Gyeongsang Daily that Nana would only be working as a project guest member for the group and the final lineup officially consists of six members. On May 21, 2025, DIVA-X revealed via Instagram stories that they would make their debut on June 9 with their first single album "I Make My Choice". However, later on, it was announced that the group would be debuting on June 20 instead.
It was also clarified that "I Make My Choice" is a digital single. On August 11, DIVA-X made their first comeback with the release of their digital single "Diva". It is a remake of After School's "Diva".
On November 5, Danah Entertainment announced that after having long and sincere discussions, Daisy would be departing from the group due to personal reasons. Around the same time, Chae Chae, who had been absent from their performances and activities since August, also left the group as DIVA-X was officially referred to as a four-member group on their Japanese promotions.
