On August 14, 2023, BJ Taewoo and member Doa announced that they were hosting a survival show to form DDgirls, as well as posting the guide vocals and choreography for "Knock Knock". The show would then be produced with a total of 6 episodes, from August 23 to September 27. On September 27, 2023, the 6th episode, they held their debut showcase and made their debut with "Knock Knock".
In December 2023, DDgirls performed at some of Dandong Entertainment's livestream events, before disbanding the same month.
