In the second half of 2010, rumors began circulating on Korean media that the producer team E-Tribe was planning to launch a new girl group. They quickly dismissed these rumors, labeling them as false. On December 9, 2010, Happy Face Entertainment, E-Tribe's label, officially confirmed that they would debut a six-member girl group named Dalshabet.
On the 29th of the same month, the members' profiles were revealed, alongside the announcement of their debut date: January 3, 2011. On January 4, Dalshabet made their official debut with their first mini-album Supa Dupa Diva. The lineup consisted of: Serri, Ah Young, Subin, Jiyul, Kaeun and Viki.
On April 11, they made their first comeback with their second mini album Pink Rocket. On August 11, Dalshabet released their third mini-album Bling Bling. On December 29, they had a special stage with B1A4 for SBS Gayo Daejeon.
As the choreography of their performance called for body contact between the members, B1A4 fans were upset and spread malicious rumors about Dalshabet and their fanbase. The police later had to get involved and confirmed that the rumors were untrue. On January 27, 2012, Dal Shabet released their fourth mini-album Hit U.
On May 22, 2012, it was confirmed that the group would release their first full-length album on June 6, 2012. The following day, it was announced that Viki would be leaving the group to pursue a solo career. She was then replaced by Woohee before the group's comeback.
It was also confirmed that Serri would take over as the new leader of Dal Shabet. On June 6, 2012, Dalshabet returned with their first full-length album Bang Bang. On November 13, 2012, the group released their fifth mini-album Have, Don't Have.
On June 20, 2013, they released their sixth mini-album Be Ambitious. On July 1, 2013, the men's rights group Man of Korea filed a petition to ban further distribution of the album, claiming that the lyrics of "Be Ambitious" encourages sexual intercourse and its music video degraded soldiers. However, they later withdrawn their petition as they "reached a amicable agreement".
On January 8, 2014, Dalshabet released their seventh mini-album B. B. B.
In September 2014, Happy Face Entertainment confirmed Dalshabet was working on a new album for a return in January 2015. On April 15, 2015 Dalshabet released their eight mini-album Joker is Alive. In November, Dalshabet began focusing on the Japanese market and made their Japanese debut with the single "Hard 2 Love" on the 3rd of the same mont, which was followed by their first Japanese album The Best the following day.
On December 8, it was confirmed that Jiyul and Kaeun would be leaving the group by the end of the year as they decided to not renew their contracts with the agency. On January 5, 2016, Dalshabet released their ninth mini album Naturalness. On September 29, 2016, Dalshabet released their 10th mini album Fri.
Sat. Sun. In September 2017, it was announced that Serri and Woohee would participate in the survival show The Unit.
While Serri finished in 23rd place, Woohee ranked 7th and secured her position in the final group, UNI. T. On December 14, 2017, Happy Face Entertainment announced that Serri, Subin, and Ah Young had decided to leave the company after their contracts expired to focus on their individual careers.
On December 5, 2018, it was reported that Woohee's contract with the company had expired. With this, the group entered an indefinite hiatus. In August 2025, member Subin revealed that she, along with Woohee, Serri and Ah Young, would be performing at the Casscool Festival on August 23.
