Ahead of their debut, Chocolate garnered attention for being a multinational girl group and having signed a multi-million dollar advertising contract with the clothing brand Nuzzon. On August 18, they appeared on M-Rookies and performed their debut song "What To Do" for the first time. On August 25, 2010, Chocolate held their debut showcase at a restaurant in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
On August 27, they made their debut with the digital single "What To Do". On October 7, news broke out that CEO Kim of entertainment agency H was under investigation for allegedly forcing two minor singers to provide sexual services, in exchange for a sponsorship from a clothing company. While it was suspected that the agency in question was H-Line Entertainment and the two singers were members of Chocolate, Cheryl, Meng and their agency denied these rumors, stating they had nothing to do with the scandal.
The following month, in an interview with Cheryl, it was revealed that the group had disbanded silently with the members going their separate ways. In addition, she revealed that the two members in question had already left the agency by the time she joined. On May 24, 2012, their disbandment was further confirmed by Lee Hena, who appeared on Global Super Idol and revealed that the group disbanded due to the rumors.
