Prior to the group's debut, the group started promoting at various events as a dance team. Chic Angel officially debuted on February 16, 2017, with the digital single "Is Love". The lineup consisted of: U Hee, Laeun, Bomi, and Sha Sha.
The group made their first comeback on July 5 with the single "Chic Summer". Sometime after this release, Bomi and Sha Sha decided to leave the group. On January 15, 2018, the group returned as a duo, consisting of U Hee and Laeun, with their third digital single "GoodDay".
For this single, they collaborated with Rion Five's Taewoo and promoted with him on music shows. On July 25, they collaborated with Cupid and Soo Kyung for the digital single "Bada", a remake of UP's 1997 hit song of the same name. This was also the first release to include new members Sia and Dayeon.
On December 14, U Hee made her solo debut with the single "Stay". She was the first member of the group to release a solo song. On April 12, 2019, the group announced that they will comeback on May 21 with the digital single "Like It".
On October 18, Dayeon made her solo debut with the song "Re BORN". Soon after, on October 28, the group released a special single "Last Festival". On December 18, Chic Angel collaborated with their label mates ICU to release the special digital single "Wish You A Merry Christmas".
On March 9, 2020, Sia made her solo debut with the track "Breath". In June, U Hee, Laeun, and Dayeon were revealed as members of Liz Entertainment's upcoming project group CHIC&IDLE. The group debuted on July 20 with the digital single "3!
4! ". In the later half of 2020, member Sia departed from the girl group.
In June 2022, the artist section of the Liz Entertainment's website was updated showing Xindy as a solo artist for the company (but still mentions her as a member of ZEROSIX) and confirming her entry into Chic Angel as new member, with a photo in the group section where she can be seen alongside Laeun, Uhee and Dayeon. On May 29, 2023, Dayeon announced her departure from Chic Angel through a handwritten letter posted on her Instagram. On March 9, 2024, Liz Entertaiment He announced that Xindy's contract had expired and she had decided not to renew it.
As of February 2025, Chic Angel was removed from Liz Entertainment's Instagram bio and web page, hinting at their silent disbandment.
