On July 16, 2007, Black Pearl officially debuted with their stage on M Countdown for the song "What Should I Do, I Like You", which was featured on the self-titled single which was released 2 days later in July 18. In September 20, they released their second single titled "Finally... It's You" On May 29, 2008, Black Pearl participated in the digital single "Color Pink" which was a collaboration with SeeYa and Davichi.
It was also a part of Cube Entertainment's COLOR PROJECT, which focuses on collaboration singles. Sometime in 2009, Mika silently left the group and was replaced by member Jungmin. On July 5, 2010, Black Pearl made their comeback with their first mini album titled Gogossing with "Gogossing" serving as the album's title track.
Black Pearl later remained inactive throughout the remainder of 2010 and 2011. On March 3, 2012, it was announced that Black Pearl had disbanded so the members could focus on solo activities. Following the disbandment of Black Pearl, all the members went their separate ways: - Nami continued being an idol and became a soloist under the name Black Pearl Nami.
She later debuted in the girl group The Unnies. After their disbandment, she presumably left the entertainment industry and is now living a private life. She is still in contact and friends with the members.
- Jungmin left the entertainment industry and got married on February 12, 2024. She is now a vocal trainer and frequently posts on her Instagram account. - Youngjoo and Hwieun made an appearance on Season 9 of the game show '.
- Youngjoo now works as a real estate sales consultant. - Hwieun started working at a café. She later got married on July 20, 2025.
She also occasionally posts on her YouTube channel. - Mika appears to have left the entertainment industry and is now living a private life.
