On May 21, 2014, Berry Good, then consisting of Subin, Iera, Taeha, Nayeon and Gowoon, made their debut under Asia Bridge Entertainment with the release of the music video for their first digital single "Love Letter", a remake of Click-B's track of the same name. The following day, the single was released to streaming platforms and they had their debut stage on M Countdown. On January 23, 2015, Berry Good started teasing a new lineup consisting of Taeha, Gowoon, new member Seoyul and two unrevealed members.
Notably, Seoyul garnered some attention for being AOA member Yuna's little sister. Two days later, the two remaining members were revealed to be Daye and Sehyung. When asked about Subin, Iera and Nayeon's whereabouts, Taeha said that they had left the group to focus on their studies.
With the new lineup, the group made their first comeback on February 9 with the digital single "Because of You". This was followed by the release of their third digital single "My First Love" on September 23, which was released with two music videos. On March 11, 2016, Berry Good launched a crowdfunding campaign on Makestar to fund their first mini album, Very Berry.
The campaign managed to reach its goal in ten days, ultimately raising ₩16,084,438. The mini album was eventually released on April 20, with "Angel" serving as the title track. On September 1, the group opened another crowdfunding project on Makestar to fund their comeback with a single album.
The release was later upgraded into a mini album and eventually raised ₩26,896,790, 268. 97% of the original goal. Ahead of their comeback, Johyun was revealed as a new member on October 25, making Berry Good a six-member group.
On November 1, the group returned with their second mini album Glory with "Don't Believe" serving as the album's title track. On March 9, 2017, another Makestar crowdfunding campaign was launched to finance their fourth digital single, titled "BibbidiBobbidiBoo". The single was released on April 16, with the members adapting a "part-timer concept", experiencing part-time works between schedules and sending proceeds to the needy, to promote it.
In September, it was revealed that Berry Good had auditioned for YG Entertainment's survival show MIXNINE. Only Johyun, Daye and Seoyul were selected to participate in the show, where they placed 24th, 37th and 71st, respectively. On March 17, 2018, JTG Entertainment announced that Berry Good would debut their first sub-unit Berry Good HEART HEART, consisting of Taeha, Gowoon, and Sehyung.
The unit officially debuted on April 27 with the digital single "Crazy, Gone Crazy". On August 6, the group posted the schedule for their comeback with their first studio album Free Travel. The album was later released on the 18th along with a music video for the title track "Green Apple".
To commemorate the release, they held their first press showcase at Ilji Art Hall in Cheongdam-dong. On September 8, it was announced that Sehyung had sprained her ankle and would be suspending her activities with the group. The following day, "Mellow Mellow" was also given a music video and they began promoting the song on music shows as a follow-up track.
On October 18, Berry Good held their first concert in Japan, titled Berry Good Japan 1st Concert & Fan Meeting Supported By K-Fan, at Shinjuku Blaze in Tokyo. On December 10, it was announced that the group would have a special winter comeback with "This Winter", which was later released on December 15 along with a music video the following day. On January 14, 2019, it was revealed by Gowoon on Arirang Radio's Super K-Pop that Berry Good was preparing for a comeback.
On May 15, the group released a teaser schedule for their third mini album, Fantastic, to be released on May 25. The following day, JTG Entertainment revealed that Daye would be sitting out of the comeback promotions due to health issues.
