On February 6, 2025, Korean pop news publisher SWAY reported that P NATION is preparing to introduce their first girl group sometime in 2025 made off all-rounder members. It was also revealed that i-dle's Soyeon is in charge of the creative direction and music for the group. On April 11, PSY posted a monthly evaluation video of four trainees considered to be a part of the debut lineup.
That same day, it was announced that the four members group would be going by the name P Girls until further notice and would be debuting in the near future. On June 9, 2025, P NATION opened the SNS accounts for Baby DONT Cry and announced they will debut on June 23. On June 10, Yihyun was introduced as the group's first member, followed by Kumi on June 11, Mia on June 12 and Beni on June 13.
On June 16, it was announced that Baby DONT Cry will make their debut with their first single album "F Girl" on June 23. That same day, the music video for "Bet You'll Regret It" was pre-released. On November 5, the group announced that they will make their comeback with their first digital single "I Dont Care" on November 19.
On March 3, 2026, Baby DONT Cry announced their first mini album After Cry, scheduled for March 24. The following day, the group revealed through a tracklist spoiler and promotion calendar that they would be pre-releasing "Shapeshifter" on March 11.
