Prior to the group's debut, the members trained for three years under Star Bay Entertainment. On October 21, the group made their debut with their first digital single, "Oh My God". The debut lineup consisted of InAh, Haneul, Minseung, and Yurian.
On December 24, they performed a new song titled "Just Let Me Go". However, no announcement of an upcoming release was made. In January 2014, they were announced as the new ambassadors for Japanese eyelashes brand Eyeyou.
With this, they revealed plans for a comeback the following month. This comeback was ultimately canceled as the group became inactive, with all four members withdrawing from the group during this period. In March 2015, AGirls was announced as ambassadors for the 2015 Korea International Culinary Contest.
With this, they revealed their new lineup, consisting of Yeonju, Hyeji, Jane, and Taerin. In September, the group performed their previously unreleased song "Just Let Me Go", as well as their future release, "Uhoo", for the first time. Sometime after this, Taerin silently left the lineup.
In October, the agency revealed the group's second generation lineup, consisting of Hyeji, Jane and Yeonju, as well as plans for a comeback in December of the same year. The following month, a fourth member, Taeyeon, appeared to have joined the group. In December, the agency started posting the concept photos for AGirls' upcoming comeback and introduced them as a fitness concept girl group, as well as revealing Danwoo as Taeyeon's new stage name.
However, Danwoo ended up leaving the group shortly after and the comeback was subsequently delayed. On May 16, 2016, the group finally made their first comeback with the digital single "Uhoo" and new member Heeso. However, this was shortlived as Heeso appeared to have left the group the following month and was replaced by Areum.
In 2017, Agirls became inactive, During this time, Star Bay Entertainment removed all mentions of the group from their Facebook page, as well as announcing a new Chinese trainee and a solo debut for Jane, referring to her as a member of their upcoming girl group MeiMei. This led to the assumption that Agirls had silently disbanded. Following AGirls' disbandment, the members went their separate ways: - InAh became active as a cheerleader in 2015 but quit the following year.
- In January 2017, Danwoo became a member of Kiwi Band M but left shortly afterward. - Heeso after leaving the group returned to HEXE. After HEXE's disbandment in 2016, Heeso went on to join Various in 2018 and Blastar in 2020, under her real name Jinsil.
- Jane stayed with the agency after the group's disbandment and became a member of their new girl group MeiMei, which was later canceled pre-debut. On May 23, 2017, she made her solo debut with the digital single "Forever", under the stage name MeiMei Jane. - Yeonju, Hyeji and Areum appeared to have left the entertainment industry and have since focused on their personal lives.
- The circumstances of the remaining members are unknown.
