On June 24, 2014, Doo Republic revealed their first upcoming five-member girl group, A. KOR, with Jiyoung and Kemy's cover of "". On July 1, their third member Minju was introduced through a mixtape video.
On July 24, the first three members released "Payday" as a pre-release. On August 21, member Kemy made her solo debut with the digital single "I'll Fly". On August 28, a new teaser was published on A.
KOR's YouTube channel revealing the two remaining members: Daya and Taehee. With this, the group officially made their debut on September 4 as a five-member girl group with the digital single "But Go". On January 30, 2015, A.
KOR made their comeback with their third digital single "Always". On June 4, A. KOR's sub-unit A.
KOR Black, consisting of Kemy and Minju, debuted with the digital single "How We Do". In October, Taehee appeared to be absent from the promotional pictures for A. KOR's upcoming events, unofficially confirming her departure from the group.
In late December, Daya was absent from the group's promotions. Two months later, in February 2016, new photos featuring only the original members were posted on A. KOR's official SNS, unofficially confirming her departure from the group.
In 2016, it was revealed that the group had been transferred to STL Entertainment. With the change of agency, they announced plans for new music with different concept from the hip hop concept set by their former management. Throughout 2016, the group mainly promoted at small events across Asia.
The members also pursued individual activities, notably Jiyoung going viral after her appearance on ' in August 2016 and Minju began modeling for the sportswear brand Lasquall. On December 31, the group shared their final update by posting the New Year’s greetings for 2017. Following that, no further news or updates regarding the group's status were provided by either the company or the members.
After nearly a year of silence, A. KOR’s fancafé unexpectedly ceased activity and was deleted on December 27, 2017, unofficially confirming the group’s disbandment. Following the group’s disbandment, the members went their separate ways: - Minju announced on her Instagram on October 14, 2022 that she was pregnant with her son, whom she later gave birth to on October 20, 2022.
- A year later, on October 14, 2023, Minju announced on her Instagram that she was getting married, with her non-celebrity boyfriend. - Daya announced on January 22, 2024, that she would be getting married on January 27 to former XENO-T member Kim Dongsung, whom she had privately dated for ten years. - The circumstances of the remaining members are currently unknown.
