He participated in the Anhui TV survival reality show Super Idol, which first aired on July 10, 2015. He won the season with his team and went to South Korea to train for three months. On October 18, 2016, he was revealed as a member of the project boy group SWIN and its sub-unit SWIN-S, along with the other winners of Super Idol and Super Idol 2.
SWIN-S made its debut on December 20, 2016, with the EP New World and SWIN made its debut on July 17, 2017, with the EP EP1. In June 2018, he terminated his contract with Pelias Entertainment and withdrew from SWIN and SWIN-S. On October 25, 2018, Wumuti was introduced as a contestant of Under Nineteen with his moving poster.
The poster revealed that he was a part of the performance team. He left before the final began. On December 29, 2022, he was introduced as a contestant of Boys Planet, which aired on February 2.
On March 23, 2023, he was eliminated in episode 8 after ranking 34th place. In January 2024, he was revealed as a contestant on Mnet's reality survival show Build Up : Vocal Boy Group Survivor. The show began airing on January 26, 2024, and on its finale, on March 29, it was revealed that Wumuti's team WATERFIRE placed third, rendering him eliminated.
On April 3, it was announced that WATERFIRE would be debuting as a project boy group under LYNNA Entertainment. They made their debut on May 30, 2024 with the single album "Possible". On June 20, it was announced that he would make his solo debut with the single album, "You Make Me Better", set to be released on June 30.
On December 17, Wumuti was revealed as the first member of the upcoming genderless group XLOV. They made their debut on January 7, 2025 with the digital single "I'mma Be".
