On September 1, 2017, Taeeun debuted as a member of IM with their first digital single album "Sad Story". In October 2017, he participated in KBS2's idol rebooting project show The Unit along with the members of IM. He was eliminated in episode 10 of the show and ranked 40 overall.
IM presumably disbanded in 2019. On February 24, 2020, Taeeun made his solo debut with the digital single "Pendulum".
