Seong Jong worked as a radio DJ host for his own program "Lee Sungjong's Midnight Black" on EBS for 10 months. The show aired from the 27th of August 2018 to the 15th of June 2019 every week from Monday to Saturday at midnight. He had several guests including INFINITE's members Woo Hyun and Dong Woo who came to promote their solo albums.
On June 9, 2021, it was revealed that he had renewed his contract with Woollim Entertainment once more after 11 years. Seong Jong has been posting videos on INFINITE's official YouTube channel starting from August 2021 called "What is Sungjong doing ? " and has teased fans about his own upcoming YouTube channel ever since.
On January 24, 2022, it was announced that Seong Jong had left Woollim after being with the company for 13 years. However, he will continue to be a member of INFINITE. On September 5, Seong Jong signed an exclusive contract with SPK Entertainment.
On March 8, 2023, it was announced that Seong Jong will make his solo debut on March 13 with the single album "The One". On January 16, 2024, Seong Jong announced that he notified SPK Entertainment a termination of his exclusive contract back in late December 2023 as he didn't receive proper support and payment for his activities. Additionally, he plans to take legal action against the company.
On March 30, it was announced that Seong Jong's exclusive contract with SPK Entertainment had been terminated. On February 28, 2025, it was revealed that Seong Jong won his lawsuit against his SPK Entertainment for unpaid settlement money covering two years of his activities. The company will have to pay settlement money calculated with an annual interest rate until full repayment.
