On November 3, 2011, he made his debut as a member of Taken with their first mini album Only You, under the stage name Sungwon. In May 2012, Taken re-branded as A-PRINCE. With this, he made his re-debut with the group on November 6, 2012 with their mini album Hello.
On February 16, 2018, he appeared as a contestant on Mnet's show ' with his brother Sung Yoo Yong and won the episode. On November 25, 2019, he made his debut as a soloist on with the digital single "Painful Breakup", under the stage name Seong Da Bin. On October 5, 2020, he debuted as one half of the project trot duo 1989 with the digital single "Chirit Chirit", under his birth name Seong Chang Yong.
