In 2006, Minho was discovered through SM Entertainment's Casting System. In March 2008, he modeled for Ha Sang-beg's F/W 08–09 Seoul Collection. He debuted as a member of SHINee on May 22, 2008 with the group's first mini album Replay.
On November 8, 2022, SM Entertainment announced that Minho would be releasing his first solo album in mid-December. On November 22, it was revealed that Minho would be releasing his first mini album, Chase, on December 6. On October 15, it was revealed that Minho will be releasing his first full-length album Call Back on November 4.
On November 5, 2025, SM Entertainment announced Minho will be releasing a single in the fourth quarter of 2025. On December 1, Minho announced his first single album "Tempo", scheduled for December 15. On January 8, it was announced that Minho will release two songs titled "Sunkissed" and "Flawless" on February 25, 2026.
