In 2013, he auditioned for the Mnet survival show ' as a solo singer. After the Super Week rounds ended, the judges decided to place him in a group called Plan B with three other contestants including Lee Kyung Hyun, Yoon Tae Kyoung, and Jannabi's . They finished in the top 8 after they were eliminated on October 18.
Plan B disbanded sometime after the top 10 contestants' concert tour ended on December 28. In 2017, Donghun, and his fellow members Kim Byeongkwan and Wow, became a contestant on the JTBC's new survival show MIXNINE. He made it to the final line up after achieving 8th place, but unfortunately, after much discussion, it was decided the MIXNINE group would not debut.
On August 13, Beat Interactive announced that Donghun has changed his stage name and would be going by his given name Lee Donghun for future group activities from this point moving forward. In January 2024, he was revealed as a contestant on Mnet's reality survival show Build Up : Vocal Boy Group Survivor. In the final episode his team, The Partners, placed second.
On July 8, it was revealed that Lee Donghun and Park Je Up will be teaming up as D&J and will be debuting on July 13 with the digital single " I Still". On March 4, 2025, Beat Interactive announced that Lee Donghun legally changed his name and would now be going by Lee Jiham. On July 18, Orca Music announced that they had signed Lee Jiham to an exclusive contract.
On October 1, he was identified as the contestant SingAgain4 Singer No. 54 (싱어게인4 54호 가수) on the JTBC survival show Sing Again 4. On October 28, it was confirmed in the third episode and on the show's website that he was eliminated during the first round.
His performance did not air, but it was released exclusively on the JTBC Music YouTube channel on November 14. He performed "Till the End of Time" by The Black Skirts. On January 20, Lee Jiham announced that he would be releasing his first digital single, "Forever Mine", on January 29, 2026.
It acts as the pre-release for his solo debut scheduled for February. On February 3, he announced his debut mini album Love Before Me, scheduled for February 12.
