In 2018, Gangmin became a member of the taekwondo co-ed group K-TIGERS ZERO. On September 19, 2019, Gangmin debuted as a member with the release of their mini album HuiRoAeRak. Unfortunately, he left the group sometime in January 2021, with his final participation in the group being their first digital single "Love".
In December 2022, Gangmin returned to singing again and was revealed as a contestant on TV Chosun's trot competitive reality show Burning Trotman. Unfortunately, he was eliminated early in the show during the first round of eliminations. In early 2023, Gangmin founded the Taekwondo group TAEKWONCRE, made up of professional and learning Taekwondo partitioners.
Though not a formal idol group or music group, they have released music under their name to help promote the group to a wider audience. Thus, TAEKWONCRE released their first EP April 13, 2023, titled Taekwondo. On November 7, 2023, Gangmin made his debut as a soloist singer with the digital single "Prayer.
