After the announcement of the group, BTS, going on hiatus, a representative from BigHit Music also revealed that J-Hope will be the first member to begin solo activities. On June 26, it was announced that J-Hope would be releasing his first full-length album, Jack In The Box, on July 15, along with a pre-release single titled "More" on July 1. On February 27, 2023, it was announced that J-Hope will be releasing his third digital single, "On the Street", ahead of his military enlistment on March 3.
On February 18, 2024, BigHit Music announced that J-Hope will be releasing his first special album Hope on the Street Vol. 1 on March 29. On January 10, 2025, J-Hope announced his first solo world tour j-hope Tour 'Hope on the Stage' starting February 28 in Seoul, as well as upcoming music, scheduled for release in March.
On January 21, J-Hope attended the Men's 25F/W Louis Vuitton show at the Paris Fashion Week where his new song titled "LV Bag" in collaboration with Don Toliver was unveiled. On February 6, BigHit Music confirmed that J-Hope is preparing for a March comeback. On February 27, BigHit Music announced that J-Hope would be releasing the digital single, "Sweet Dreams" on March 7.
On March 9, BigHit Music announced that J-Hope would be releasing the remix album, Sweet Dreams (zzZ Remixes) on March 11. On March 14, J-Hope performed his new song "Mona Lisa" at the Hope on the Stage New York City show. On March 15, BigHit Music announced that J-Hope would be releasing the digital single "Mona Lisa" on March 21.
On March 17, 2025, BigHit Music announced that J-Hope would be releasing his first English remix single "Sweet Dreams (FNZ Remix)", set to be released the next day. On May 28, a concept film was unveiled through the HYBE YouTube channel, seemingly hinting at J-Hope's upcoming release. A few hours later, the digital single "Killin' It Girl" was announced to be released on June 13.
On June 15, it was announced that J-Hope would be releasing Killin' It Girl (Remixes), scheduled for release on June 17.
