On September 21, 2012, he debuted as a member of Offroad with their first digital single "Bebop", under the stage name Rio. In April 2017, he appeared on Mnet's survival show Produce 101 Season 2, under his real name Jeong Dong Su. He was later eliminated on episode 8 at 36th place.
On August 3, he debuted as a member of Offroad's first sub-unit AA with the digital single "Flex", under the stage name Arkay. On July 10, 2018, SHow Entertainment announced that Offroad would be disbanding, with him departing from the agency. After leaving the agency, he continued promoting as a member of AA under INAKIST Entertainment.
On June 27, 2021, AA went their separate ways after releasing their disbandment single "Summer Lane".
