Yukika first came to be known in Japanese media in 2006 as a 12-year-old nicomo model working for the teen magazine '. In 2007, she became a member of the idol teen duo Choco & Mimi with former AKB48 member Masuyama Kayano. The duo released two singles together before disbanding sometime in 2008.
Yukika was then active as a voice actress in several anime and video games until 2012 when she took a career break. She moved to Korea sometime in 2015. In 2016, Yukika passed the audition for the recruitment of the project girl group Real Girls Project and became one of the main members.
She made her debut with the project girl group on August 25, 2016 with their debut digital single, "Dream". The following year, the members of Real Girls Project were featured as lead actresses in , a South Korean television series based on the Japanese franchise. Yukika was the only Japanese cast member in the show.
In October 2017, she appeared as a contestant on the survival show MIXNINE representing M. O. L.
Entertainment along with fellow Real Girls Project members SoRi, Youngjoo and Yeeun. She was eliminated in Episode 10, where she ranked #34. Real Girls Project presumably disbanded sometime in 2018.
In early February 2019, Estimate Entertainment revealed that they had signed an exclusive contract with Yukika and she will be making her debut as a solo artist on February 22. On February 22, 2019, Yukika made her solo debut in Korea with the digital single "Neon". A limited physical variant was also released.
Yukika made her first comeback with the digital single, "Cherries Jubiles" on July 9. On December 7, Estimate released a teaser photo for an upcoming full album by Yukika, set to be released in 2020. On July 1, 2020, Yukika confirmed the album will be released sometime that month.
Prior to the album's release, a pre-release single titled "Yesterday" was released on July 8. On November 30, 2020, it was announced that she left Estimate Entertainment after the termination of her contract. The agency asks for the fans to continuous supporting her future projects.
On December 30, it was announced through her Daum Cafe that she had been signed under Ubuntu Entertainment, a new company that was created by her former manager. On February 22, 2021, it was announced that she would be coming back with her first mini album. On March 25, the album's title was revealed to be Timeabout,.
On June 30, American singer-songwriter [https://www. instagram. com/patlokmusic/ Pat Lok] announced a collaboration single with Yukika, titled "The Moment", and was soon afterwards released on July 1.
On September 15, it was announced she would release the digital single "Loving You" on September 20. On June 20, it was announced she would be release the digital single "Scent" on June 23. On December 5, she announced that she has left Ubuntu Entertainment as her contract expired on November 30.
On November 17, 2023, it was announced she would be release the remake album Time-Lapse on December 1. Later that same day, Yukika revealed through her personal Instagram that Time-Lapse will mark her final music release and she will henceforth be retiring from her 15+ year-long career as an idol and singer.
