Prior to working as a YouTuber, U-Min was known as a frequent dancer associated with 1MILLIOn Dance Studio. In early 2020, U-Min signed under HUX Entertainment and opened a YouTube channel, titled 'U-Min TV' where she uploads song and dance covers, mukbangs and beauty videos. On her channel, she shared her plans to debut as a singer in 2021 with her agency.
On September 21, 2020, U-Min was announced as an upcoming contestant in the teen reality competition show CAP-TEEN. However, she did not pass the first performance evaluation and thus was eliminated. On March 11, 2021, HUX Entertainment announced that U-Min would be making her official debut as a solo artist on April 8 with the mini album, Nineteen.
On May 15, 2022, U-Min released her first comeback with the digital single, "Real Love". The release of "Real Love" also marked her first release as the primary composer and lyricist of her own music. In early December 2022, it was discovered that U-Min joined Busters as a guest member for their BUSTERS IN TOKYO event to replace member Yunji who could not participate in the event due to personal circumstances.
She was active for approximately four months for group activities but by early May 2023, U-Min departed from Busters and was replaced by Nami. On January 25, 2024, U-Min stated on a live that she gave up on her idol life after a fan asked. In June 2024, she participated in the 68th Miss Korea Global Selection pageant where she received the 2024 Miss Korea Global Entertainer title.
