Dajung debuted as a member of SUPA on November 8, 2016 with the release of their first digital single, "SUPA". The girl group released one more single in 2017 before disbanding the following year. On July 3, 2020, she was revealed as a member of the then upcoming girl group PIXY.
The group debuted on February 24, 2021 with the digital single "Wings". On June 20, 2024, she announced via her Instagram that she had left PIXY. On June 22, it was announced that she would be a special panelist at the under her new stage name, U_Chae.
On July 11, U_Chae announced that she would be making her solo debut coinciding her birthday on July 31 with the mini album Awake. Prior to the album's release, "One Sweet Day" would be made available as a pre-release single on July 17. On November 10, it was announced that U_Chae would return as a musical guest performer at the Anime Weekend Atlanta.
She first performed there with PIXY in 2022. On December 1, she revealed via Instagram story that she would be releasing a new single for Christmas. It was released on December 4 with the title "You Are My Christmas".
On December 8, it was announced that would be releasing the digital single "Morning Call", featuring Japanese singer Uki Satake, on December 10. On January 10, 2025, it was announced that U_Chae would be making a comeback with the digital single "Winter", scheduled for release on January 16. On February 2, JUNITY Entertainment announced that there were problems in the manufacturing of U_Chae's upcoming Japanese debut album Prism of Love.
The release date has been moved to March 5 instead of February 5 as originally planned. "Red Sun" will act as a pre-release for the album, to be released on February 11 as compensation for the delay. On May 29, it was announced that she will be having a fanmeeting tour around USA titled Hey, U_Chae in July 2025.
On July 4, it was announced that U_Chae would release her first English mini album Awake, on July 31. On November 3, U_Chae released a teaser for her sixth digital single "Bad Guy", which is set for release on November 10. On December 13, 2025, it was announced that she would be going on her second fanmeeting tour around the USA, titled Hey, U_Chae Pt.
2 in January of 2026. On February 24, AWU released a visual prologue which revealed that U_Chae has been added to the lineup. AWU will debut on April 9 with the mini album Re:frame.
