Sometime in 2020, Rio joined AMX Entertainment as a trainee. She became a trainee of their pre-debut team 'AMX Trainee' (now known as Free In Sass), however she departed from the agency sometime in February 2021. On November 21, 2024, Rio made her debut as a soloist with the release of the collaborative digital single "iD" with singer Han Som.
